Sonam Wangchuk who has been on a fast for the past 26 days against the leak of NEET question papers has finally ended his fast in the presence of Union Ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh.
Wangchuk ended the fast after the government assured that punitive action will not be taken against students who protested and marched to the Parliament on June 20 as well as bring in reforms very swiftly after a discussion at the Parliament on Monday.
Wangchuk called upon the protesting students to shun violence and also ensure that the movement is not taken advantage by anti social elements.
Wangchuk’s decision to end the fast came moments after Prime Minister Modi addressed the students through social media promising more stringent against the NEET paper leaks in Monday’s cabinet and also introduction of a new bill to ensure such strict action in the Parliament on Monday.
Now the focus moves to how the CJP will respond to these positive signals.
