Dawn of a New Space Era: Vikram-1 India’s First Private Space Rocket Launched from Sriharikota!

India’s first fully indigenously built private space rocket Vikram-1 has been successfully launched into the low Earth orbit (LEO) from the Sriharikota launching pad on early Saturday morning.

It is the dawn of a new space era as the private company Skyroot Aerospace met with huge success in its very first launch to be heralded into a group of elite space companies the world.

Founded only in 2018 in Hyderabad the company made headlines with Vikram-S its first sub-orbital rocket in 2022 becoming the first Indian private company to reach outer space. Vikram-1 is a seven storeyed tall rocket that is capable of hauling 770 pounds of payload.

The Prime Minister later called up on to congratulate the team and hope that this milestone will inspire a lot of young entrepreneurs to turn to space technology in the country.
