Can England beat Mexico at the Estadio Azteca? Can the Three Lions survive the conditions?

The big question on everyone’s mind is whether England can get past Mexico at their den – The Estadio Azteca!

It is known to be cruelly demanding to even play 90 minutes at one of world’s high altitude stadiums forget about beating the home team which has an impeccable record at this ground in Mexico City.

The English team have been in Mexico City hoping to get acclimatized to the demanding conditions but are they ready for it. That is the big question.

Last time England played a world cup match here was in 1986 where they have the bitter memories of losing to Diego Maradona’s Argentina and the controversial ‘hand of God’ goal.

But England can take heart that whoever Mexico beat over the last 89 games they have played here are all ranked much below them in the FIFA rankings. Whichever way it goes England are jumping into a cauldron with the odds heavily stacked against them.
