VD Satheesan is the thirteenth Chief Minister of Kerala. After eleven days of intense discussions, political upmanship and suspense the Congress high command finally decided to bow down to popular choice. While it was evident that majority of the general public in Kerala wanted VD Satheesan as the next Chief Minister, after having led the UDF to a thumping victory, both KC Venugopal and Ramesh Chennithala played their cards till the last moment to get the coveted post. But what seems to have rolled the dice in favour of Satheesan was the unprecedented support rendered by the allies in the UDF especially the Indian Union Muslim League who stood behind VDS through the last week and a half. The VDS led cabinet is expected to swear in over the next two days.
