According to Dr. Ajay Tijore, Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at IISc and co-author of the study, the breakthrough lies in exploiting the mechanical weakness of cancer cells. “Instead of using heat or drugs, this approach uses moderate mechanical forces to damage cancer cells beyond recovery,” he said. Rather than relying on heat, radiation, or toxic drugs, the technique physically damages cancer cells beyond their ability to recover, potentially reducing side effects associated with conventional cancer treatments.
